Darebin Art Show
Established in 1992, and presented by the City of Darebin, the Darebin Art Show (DAS) is a biennial exhibition of contemporary visual arts and crafts celebrating the depth and talent of Darebin’s artistic community.
The Darebin Art Show is designed to encourage the broadest possible participation; there is no pre-selection process or entry fee . This affords artists practising in the many and varied areas of contemporary art an opportunity to exhibit their work.
The Darebin Art Show is acquisitive and the City of Darebin supports creativity and diversity in contemporary visual art practices by acquiring works to the value of $3,000 as well as sponsoring the $500 People’s Choice Award. Previous winners include Eolo Paul Bottaro, Ju Yuen Merran Chew, John Sheehan, Louise Grant, Jarrod Atkinson and Phil Harris.
The Darebin Art Show is open to all artists who live, work or learn within the boundaries of the municipality.
